ForeScout and CyberArk announce partnership - and new solution
Thu, 28th Sep 2017
FYI, this story is more than a year old

ForeScout Technologies and CyberArk have announced a partnership and new joint solution.

The joint solution has been deemed the Forescout Extended Module for CyberArk and both companies assert it provides deep enterprise security capabilities to improve visibility and insight into privileged accounts on previously unknown devices, enforce greater security controls, and automate threat detection and response.

"ForeScout and CyberArk are providing industry-leading threat intelligence and insight into organisations' network security posture and the areas that are most vulnerable to attack," says Adam Bosnian, executive vice president for global business development at CyberArk.

"This is a powerful partnership that will directly benefit our customers by integrating multiple security solutions across critical areas such as discovery, analytics and credential management, enabling customers to gain valuable context to prioritise response."

According to the companies, privileged accounts continue to be prominent within enterprise networks in multiple repositories and connected devices, which unintentionally expands the attack surface as they provide powerful access to an organisation's most sensitive data.

Today, compromised privileged credentials are in fact used in the majority of cyber breaches, which means having a security solution that increases privileged account security and accountability is becoming increasingly crucial.

"The lack of visibility into unknown privileged accounts across the network, combined with an increasing number of devices connecting to enterprises, creates gaping holes that allow hackers to easily infiltrate unsuspecting organizations," says Pedro Abreu, senior vice president and chief strategy officer at ForeScout.

"ForeScout is teaming up with CyberArk to give our joint customers a distinct advantage that expands their visibility and control across their infrastructure to reduce security risks and help stop attackers before they inflict serious damage."

Findings from ABI Research's Internet of Everything Market Tracker support the partnership of ForeScout and CyberArk, as more than 28 billion devices will be connected to the internet by 2020 and the vast majority won't be manageable using agent-based security methods.

The partnership betweent the two will enable users to benefit from the best of both worlds.

ForeScout scans the network in real time and automates policy-based access control and enforcement of these devices based on their security posture and behavior without using an agent.

CyberArk provides a critical layer of IT security that protects against advanced cyberattacks and insider threats across the enterprise – on-premises, in the cloud and on endpoints.
